What WHO-5 measures
WHO-5 describes mental well-being over the past two weeks using five statements. It focuses on positive aspects of well-being rather than beginning with a symptom checklist.
Reading the score
The raw score is 0–25 and can be multiplied by four to give 0–100. Higher scores reflect greater reported well-being. A transformed score of 60 is not “60% mentally healthy.” Low well-being may warrant further assessment but does not diagnose depression; a high score does not exclude every difficulty.
