What it measures
PSS-10 asks about perceived stress during the past month. Scores range from 0 to 40, with higher scores indicating greater perceived stress.
Why context matters
It measures appraisal of stress rather than counting difficulties. Two people with similar workloads may have different support, sleep or additional responsibilities. Their totals should not be used to rank whose suffering matters more.
Interpreting and accessing it
The developer states that PSS is not diagnostic and has no diagnostic cutoffs. Online low/moderate/high categories should not be treated as diagnoses or probabilities of future illness. The Arabic questionnaire is not currently available here pending appropriate permission for the chosen version. Discuss persistent distress and daily-life impact with a professional.
