What it measures
Arabic ECR-R-16 assesses attachment-related anxiety and avoidance. Its Lebanese development study describes 16 items, with eight per dimension. It is distinct from other ECR forms.
Interpreting the dimensions
Consider anxiety and avoidance separately and in the context of current and past relationships. Scores are not psychiatric diagnoses, fixed identities or verdicts on suitability for marriage. One person’s responses cannot establish a partner’s attachment pattern.
Example and availability
Repeated reassurance seeking or withdrawal during conflict can prompt discussion, but a single behaviour does not establish an attachment style or childhood cause. Psychodynamic interpretations remain individual hypotheses. The exact Arabic item set, scoring key and appropriate permission require verification before this site can offer the questionnaire.
